Rear Extension, Wimbledon, London

The contemporary rear extension in this Victorian terraced house has replaced the narrow kitchen with a free flow open plan.

The full width opening on the rear provides a smooth transition between inside and outside, hence maximising natural light and viewing to the outdoor area.

The project is the result of a close collaboration with the clients, providing a new living area and an extra cloak room on ground floor.

The main feature of the rear facade is the constant frame size around the glazed screen that incorporates the symmetry and brickwork fabric, similarly to the Victorian style.
